Teresina City Hall submitted a R$700 million loan request to the Municipal Chamber to restructure debt and invest in infrastructure projects in the city.
The main purpose of the loan is to pay off old financing with high interest rates, seeking to reduce the cost of the municipal public debt.
In addition to debt restructuring, part of the funds will be allocated to infrastructure investments, including bridge construction and urban mobility projects in the capital of Piauí.
The request is now under review at the Municipal Chamber, where council members must analyze and approve the proposal before the municipality can finalize the loan.
