The budgetary execution of the Portuguese State recorded a surplus of 282 million euros until July. This value represents a significant improvement in the country's public accounts during this period.
However, this surplus represents a decrease of 2,040.1 million euros compared to the same period in 2025. This comparison indicates that the budgetary performance was less favorable this year than in the homologous period of the previous year.
The data suggest a worsening of public accounts when comparing the two exercises, despite still maintaining a positive result in the State accounts.
