"It's worse than December". Back to school is synonymous with a tough month for families

Classes are about to resume in Portugal. The exact date of the return depends on the education level and each school. However, for many families, this period represents a month of great financial difficulties due to the school expenses of their children.

According to the news, one third of households admits not being able to cover September expenses because of the return to school. This situation highlights the financial pressure that many families face during this time of year.

Some parents even speak of an expense that can reach 300 euros per child, which represents a significant amount for family budgets. This amount includes the costs associated with the beginning of the school year, such as school supplies, uniforms and other related expenses.
