The Complementary Itinerary 1 (IC1) near Ermidas-Sado, in the municipality of Santiago do Cacém, Setúbal district, was closed to traffic during the afternoon today due to a vegetation fire.
The road was closed following the fire that broke out in the scrubland area of that region. Authorities did not indicate the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
Civil Protection confirmed that traffic on IC1 was restored at 19:37, after authorities considered it safe to reopen the road.
The temporary road closure affected traffic on one of the main connecting routes in the Baixo Alentejo region and the southern part of Setúbal district.
