The President of the Republic, José Mário Vaz, promulgated the law on the return of foreigners, contradicting his previous position of veto.
The decision of the head of State comes following a ruling by the Constitutional Court issued on Friday, which considered the presidential veto unconstitutional.
The promulgation of the law was announced through a note published on the portal of the Presidency of the Republic on the Internet.
With this decision, the President of the Republic complies with the sentence of the Constitutional Court, thus putting an end to the institutional dispute that had arisen regarding the matter.
