The transfer market in Portugal closes at 11:59 PM on Friday, setting a final deadline for clubs to complete player transactions and registrations. However, this is not the only important date to consider.
UEFA requires that registrations for the league phases be submitted 49 hours before the market closes. This additional requirement forces Portuguese clubs to significantly accelerate their operations in the final days of the transfer period.
The reduced time window between UEFA list submission and the official market closure creates additional pressure on clubs' sporting directors, who need to ensure all players are properly registered in time.
This dynamic particularly affects clubs that still need reinforcements for European competitions, forcing them to make quick decisions and resolve administrative pending matters with greater urgency.
