Salvamento Marítimo rescued off the south of the island of El Hierro, in the Canaries, a cayuco with approximately 97 people on board. The vessel was intercepted in waters near the island, where the migrants were safely rescued.
After the rescue, the vessel continued toward the port of La Restinga, located in the south of El Hierro. It is at this port that the 97 occupants will be disembarked to receive assistance and be processed according to arrival protocols for migrants.
