The Vila Nova de Gaia City Council today approved a protocol with the Porto City Council regarding a heavy vehicle circulation registry platform on the Via de Cintura Interna (VCI). This agreement establishes a monitoring system to control the circulation of these vehicles on the road.
The platform will allow the registration and tracking of heavy vehicles circulating on the VCI, creating a more efficient control system for the traffic of these vehicles on the road. The protocol establishes the basis for collaboration between the two municipalities.
With this agreement, heavy vehicles will be restricted from circulating on the VCI starting from September 15th. The measure aims to control and limit the traffic of these vehicles on a road that is shared by the two municipalities.
The protocol represents coordination between the two municipalities to manage the circulation of heavy vehicles on a road that crosses the territory of both municipalities, establishing common rules for this restriction.
