Avenida da Liberdade repaving begins today and lasts two weeks

Notícias Lx31 August 2026 at 18:17

The repaving of Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon began on Monday, August 31st. The intervention aims to improve road conditions and will take place over approximately two weeks.

The works will be carried out exclusively during the nighttime period, between 21:00 and 05:00, in order to minimize the impact on daytime traffic.

During the intervention, there will be traffic restrictions on the avenue. Light vehicle traffic will be diverted and redirected to the side lanes of the avenue, in order to allow the continuity of travel in the area.

The project represents an investment in the road infrastructure of the Portuguese capital, with the objective of providing better circulation conditions for both drivers and pedestrians who use this important artery of Lisbon.
