Portugal delivered its Nature Restoration Plan to the European Commission ahead of the established deadline. The document was submitted to Brussels under European environmental recovery obligations.
The plan includes 386 specific actions directed at three main objectives: the recovery of degraded ecosystems, biodiversity reinforcement and increasing the country's resilience against environmental challenges.
The measures foreseen cover the entire Portuguese territory, seeking to restore habitats and species that are in decline. This plan is part of the broader European Union strategy to halt biodiversity loss on the continent.
