Pombal is part of Leiria's candidacy for Culture Capital. This candidacy has the support of all 10 municipalities that are part of the Intermunicipal Community of the Leiria Region. The inclusion of Pombal in this candidacy demonstrates the collaboration between the municipalities in the region to achieve this objective. The project aims to present Leiria's candidacy for the title of Capital of Culture, thus mobilizing the entire region around this initiative.
