ANEEL maintained the yellow flag in September for the fifth consecutive month. The decision occurs due to the dry season, which reduces hydroelectric reservoir levels and requires the activation of thermoelectric plants, which are more expensive. With the yellow tariff, there will be an additional charge of R$ 1.885 per 100 kWh consumed.
The tariff flag system was created in 2015 and reflects the costs of energy generation. The system is divided into four levels: green (no extra cost), yellow (moderate cost), red level 1 (high cost), and red level 2 (very high cost).
From the perspective of EcoPower Energy Efficiency, investing in solar energy in the current socioeconomic scenario goes beyond the environmental factor. The company considers solar energy a measure of asset protection, operational efficiency, and financial predictability.
With historic tariff adjustments that exceed average inflation, dependence on the conventional electrical grid exposes household and corporate budgets to the volatility of energy costs.
