Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norway's Queen Mette-Marit, born from a previous relationship before her marriage to King Haakon, was authorized by police to attend King Harald V's funeral. He was under house arrest with an electronic bracelet after being convicted of rape in June.

Høiby was sentenced to four years in prison for two rape crimes and 32 additional charges, including mistreatment of an ex-partner. The conviction occurred in June, and since then he had been under house arrest in Norway.

King Harald V recently passed away, and his funeral was held with the royal family in attendance. Norwegian public television broadcast images of Borg Høiby alongside his in-laws, who carried the deceased monarch's coffin.
