The new Elevador da Glória, in Lisbon, should be completed in 2029, according to the president of the Board of Directors, Rui Lopo. However, Lopo admitted that the deadline may slip, showing caution regarding the possibility of delays in the work.
The new elevator project emerges as a renovation of one of the historical symbols of the city of Lisbon, which connects the historic center to the high part of the city. The intervention represents a significant investment in the transport infrastructure of the Portuguese capital.
Rui Lopo, anticipating the difficulties inherent in projects of this size, acknowledged that deadlines in public works are frequently subject to unforeseen events that can extend the construction period.
Also during this period, the former president of the Portuguese Business Association passed away, a prominent figure in the Portuguese business sector whose death was reported.
