Businessman and former AEP president Ludgero Marques dies at 88

Ludgero Marques, businessman and former president of the Portuguese Business Association (AEP), died at the age of 88. The information was shared through a statement that also announced the details of the funeral ceremonies.

The wake will take place from 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Mother Church of Rio Meão, in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira. This was the area of origin and business activity of the entrepreneur.

Ludgero Marques was a prominent figure in the Portuguese business sector, having led AEP during his term. His death represents the loss of a personality with strong ties to the business community in the northern region of the country.

Exiting a franchise should be evaluated before signing

The Brazilian franchise market exceeded R$ 300 billion in annual revenue for the first time, reaching R$ 301.7 billion in 2025, with nominal growth of 10.5% compared to the previous year.
