Leonardo Fajardo, a 19-year-old forward who was on Benfica's radar, will leave Porto and continue his career in Italy. The striker was officially announced by Lecce, a club where he will initially join the under-20 team. The deal could earn the dragons up to around 250 thousand euros, subject to the achievement of the objectives set between the parties. Porto also retains the right to 35 percent of the profits from a future transfer of the player.

Léo Fajardo lost ground in the options of the blue and white club during the last season, despite being part of the team that won the under-19 National Championship. The forward had limited playing time, participating in only nine matches in the youth ranks, in which he scored five goals.

The young striker had sparked interest from Benfica, who sought to understand the conditions to secure his signing. The eagles saw in the forward an option with potential for the future, but the player ended up heading to Italy.

Over 20 years, Messi won the 2022 World Cup, two Copa América titles (2021 and 2024) and the Finalissima, but also experienced great disappointments in finals lost before 2021. The player thanked the fans, family and teammates, stating that he leaves the national team with "peace and pride" and that he will continue to support Argentina "from outside".
