ANAC suspended the license of Lusofly Academy, an aviation school located in Bragança, which operated for almost four years without graduating a single pilot. The school charged 70 thousand euros per student but did not own its own aircraft or have qualified instructor pilots.
The air regulator gave the school a six-month ultimatum to correct the irregularities, threatening to definitively cancel the operating authorization. During this period, the institution accumulated significant debts and failed to meet the minimum requirements to train pilots.
Lusofly Academy represented a considerable financial loss for the students who paid high tuition fees, being left without the promised training. The case highlighted serious failures in the oversight of aviation schools and in the protection of those who invest in specialized training in the sector.
