Tourist office moves to former SMTUC drivers' room

Notícias de Coimbra31 August 2026 at 17:28

Coimbra's tourist office has moved to the former facilities of the drivers' room at the Municipal Urban Transport Services of Coimbra (SMTUC). This change represents a reorganization of public spaces dedicated to tourist services in the city.

The closure of the Loja dos Sabores de Coimbra, which also operated as a tourist office for the regional entity, occurs five years after its opening. The space will no longer be available to visitors who were seeking information about the region.

The SMTUC are the municipal services responsible for urban public transport in the city of Coimbra, managing the municipal bus network. The former drivers' room of these services has been adapted to house the new tourist office.

With this change, the city seeks to maintain service to tourists and visitors, reorganizing available resources and spaces to ensure the continuity of tourist information services for those visiting Coimbra.
