Bayern loans Arijon Ibrahimovic to Augsburg

Record31 August 2026 at 17:27

Bayern Munich has loaned midfielder Arijon Ibrahimovic to Augsburg. The temporary transfer allows the 20-year-old to get more playing time, something that has been denied to him at Bayern.

Ibrahimovic, who turns 21 in November, is considered one of the most promising young players in German football. However, he has not managed to establish himself in Bayern's starting eleven, where the competition in midfield is intense.

The player underwent medical tests on Monday, a mandatory procedure before the formalization of any transfer. The successful completion of the tests now allows the loan to be finalized.

Augsburg, a Bundesliga club, is looking to strengthen their midfield with a young and talented player, benefiting from the experience that Ibrahimovic has accumulated at the Bavarian giant.

Over 20 years, Messi won the 2022 World Cup, two Copa América titles (2021 and 2024) and the Finalissima, but also experienced great disappointments in finals lost before 2021. The player thanked the fans, family and teammates, stating that he leaves the national team with "peace and pride" and that he will continue to support Argentina "from outside".
