European stock exchanges closed mostly down, in a session marked by the reigniting of the conflict in the Middle East. The Portuguese PSI index managed, however, to be among the exceptions and ended the day in the green, contrary to the prevailing trend in European markets.
The oil company Galp contributed significantly to this positive performance of the national index, helping to push the PSI into positive territory on a day that was unfavorable for most European exchanges.
This result allowed the Portuguese index to record its best month since February, demonstrating some resilience in the face of the geopolitical uncertainty that affected international markets. The monthly gain represents a positive highlight in a period of high volatility in European markets.
