Repaving of Av. da Liberdade takes two weeks

Avenida da Liberdade, one of Lisbon's main thoroughfares, is undergoing resurfacing works with an expected duration of two weeks. The intervention aims to improve road conditions in one of the busiest areas of the Portuguese capital.

During the construction period, traffic is being diverted to side streets along a route stretching between Restauradores and Rua Barata Salgueiro. Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes to avoid the area under construction.

The Lisbon City Council is the entity responsible for this project. The municipality revealed that it is investing a total of 8 million euros in resurfacing works throughout this year, covering various areas of the city in addition to Avenida da Liberdade.

Elevador da Glória. Fully new and "safer" structure

Carris expects to have the new Elevador da Glória in Lisbon completed by the first half of 2029.
