Consumption by Brazilians over 50 is expected to more than double by 2044, rising from R$ 1.8 trillion in 2024 to R$ 3.8 trillion, representing 35% of GDP. This information comes from the "Silver Brazil" study, conducted by consulting firm Data8.
This generation is economically active and has a longer life expectancy than their parents, which means more financial choices to make. Many people in this age group continue working, making plans, consuming, traveling, and taking care of their families.
Antônio Leitão, from the MAG Longevity Institute, highlights that this phase brings both opportunity and responsibility. With more years ahead, it is possible to review choices and make room for new projects, but it is also necessary to have financial awareness to manage this prolonged autonomy.
