Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that Israel and Russia were involved in the massive entry of migrants into Ceuta, simultaneously clearing Morocco of any responsibility for the incident.
Sánchez reiterated that, according to the information available to Spanish authorities so far, a ruling by the Spanish Supreme Court regarding the return of migrants who illegally cross the border by swimming was distorted on social media.
The official did not specify how Israel and Russia may have been involved in the incident that triggered the entry of thousands of people into the Spanish enclave.
The Spanish executive also announced that the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, will travel to Ceuta on Tuesday to assess the situation on the ground.
