Exhibition about Maria Eduarda Colares postponed to October

The exhibition dedicated to Maria Eduarda Colares, initially scheduled for an earlier date, has been postponed to October. The new opening date of the exhibition will be announced in due course by the Setúbal Municipal Council. The exhibition, titled "Was It You Who Asked for an Advertisement?", will open in October, on a date to be announced, at Municipal Gallery 11.

The exhibition is dedicated to the professional career and creative legacy of Maria Eduarda Colares, a reference figure in Portuguese advertising. The exhibition brings together images of advertising campaigns developed between the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, which marked Portuguese commercial communication.

The curatorship is collective and involves the Division of Museums and Cultural Heritage, through the Lauro António House of Images, the Youth Office, the collective Gestos de Presença, Frederico Corado and Alexandra Prado Coelho.

Maria Eduarda Colares, who passed away in October 2025 at the age of 79, developed a career linked to advertising and creative direction, having participated in the creation of campaigns that marked Portuguese commercial communication.
