Francisco Domingues, a defender trained at Benfica, was the great protagonist of Moreirense's victory over Casa Pia, 1-0, in the fourth round of the Liga Portugal Betclic. The 24-year-old fullback decided the match with a spectacular overhead kick of enormous quality and there are already those talking about him as one of the candidates for goal of the season.
Casa Pia and Moreirense arrived at the clash still looking for their first victory in the 2026/27 edition of the championship. Although the match did not have many clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities, both teams showed good moments of football and provided a balanced game.
However, it was Moreirense who found the way to the net. At 15 minutes, Francisco Domingues received the ball at the edge of the area and, practically on the 18-yard line, invented an overhead kick that came out with impressive precision. The ball only stopped in the back of the net, with no chance for André Gomes.
The technical gesture of the fullback trained at Benfica was of such quality that it is already being pointed out as one of the candidates for the goal of the season award, fueling comparisons with the prestigious Puskás Award.
