Inflation rises to 2.9%, amid energy prices

Observador31 August 2026 at 16:31

Inflation rose to 2.9% year-on-year, according to the latest data. Prices soared 10.5%, reflecting a significant increase in the cost of living.

The end of tax cuts on fuels was identified as one of the factors contributing to this rise. This measure had a direct impact on consumer prices.

The conflict in the Middle East also continued to exert pressure on prices during this period. Instability in the region affected energy markets.

In August, the combination of these factors sustained prices at high levels, fueling the inflationary trend observed.
