Police detain man for sexually abusing octogenarian in care home

The Judicial Police arrested a man suspected of sexually abusing a woman over 80 years old in a nursing home. The investigation was carried out in the area of sexual crimes, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

The suspect was identified and arrested as part of an inquiry being directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Santa Maria da Feira.

The arrested man will be brought before a judicial first hearing at the São João da Madeira Court, where he will be heard and coercive measures may be applied.

The operation was carried out by the Northern Directorate of the Judicial Police, which did not reveal further details about the suspect's identity or the specific circumstances of the abuse.
