The Municipality of Mação hosts on September 6 the third edition of the Aquathlon, which will take place at Ortiga Reservoir. The event simultaneously includes the Litoral and Interior Centro Individual Aquathlon Championship and the Litoral and Interior Centro Youth Aquathlon Championship, bringing together athletes from different age categories.
The aquathlon is one of the variants of triathlon that combines swimming and running disciplines, promising to test the endurance of participants in a setting close to nature. After the success of the first two editions, the initiative returns to the municipality to promote sport and competition.
The event program is divided into two races: at 10:00 AM the Youth Championship takes place and at 4:30 PM the Individual Championship. The organization appeals to the participation of all enthusiasts of the sport, in a day dedicated to sporting achievement and team spirit.
