ANAC suspended Lusofly Academy, an aviation school operating at Bragança Municipal Aerodrome since 2022, preventing it from continuing flight training courses. The regulatory agency gave the company six months to correct the identified deficiencies, under threat of cancellation of the aviation certificate.
The course offered by the school cost 70,000 euros and had 36 enrolled students. Half of those students had already abandoned the training or were in the process of transferring to other schools, the investigation revealed.
The main reason for the dropouts was related to the school's lack of conditions. Lusofly Academy had neither instructors nor aircraft to ensure practical training for students.
In July, the news agency had already reported that, despite operating for more than a year, the school had still not produced any pilots. Student complaints also included intimidation and debt situations related to the training.
