The Portuguese economy grew 2.5% in the second quarter year-on-year and 0.8% quarter-on-quarter, according to data confirmed by Statistics Portugal (INE) on a Monday.
Year-on-year growth was driven by a reduction in the negative contribution of net external demand, with stronger growth in exports compared to imports.
INE, as the body responsible for official statistics, confirmed these figures which demonstrate the positive evolution of Portuguese economic activity during the period under analysis.
These data represent a positive indicator for the national economy, suggesting robust performance in the second quarter of the year in question.
