Peak Reinsurance, a reinsurance company owned by Fosun International based in Hong Kong, achieved a significant milestone by exceeding one billion dollars in gross written premiums in the first half of 2026. Reinsurance revenues grew 25% to 825.7 million dollars, while gross written premiums increased 11.8% to 1.186 billion dollars. Net profit after taxes reached 89.7 million dollars and the result from reinsurance services remained stable at 70.4 million dollars.
The company's financial position was strengthened, with liquid assets increasing to 1.76 billion dollars. The solvency ratio remained at levels considered "robust" by Fosun, and the accumulation of retained earnings strengthened the capital base and financial flexibility of the reinsurer, allowing it to continue financing the growth strategy.
This performance comes after Moody's upgraded Peak Re's financial strength rating in April from Baa1 to A3, maintaining a stable outlook. During the semester, the company continued its expansion in mature markets in Europe and North America, while strengthening its presence in emerging markets, particularly in India, through a strategy of greater geographic and business line diversification.
In October 2025, Fosun opened the capital of Peak Re, with the Portuguese Quadrantis Capital acquiring 1.8% of the capital and asset manager KKR taking 11.3%. Fosun Group thus came to hold 86.7% of the reinsurer, which is headquartered in Hong Kong.
