The Portuguese state recorded a budget surplus of 282 million euros by July, according to data from the budget execution synthesis. This figure represents a significant decline compared to the same period last year.

Compared to the same period in 2025, the surplus decreased by 2,040.1 million euros, showing a significant worsening of public accounts in the period under analysis.

The information was made available through the budget execution synthesis, a document that tracks the evolution of state accounts throughout the year.
