Presidential candidate Augusto Cury (Avante) visited Rocinha, in Rio de Janeiro's South Zone, where he filmed a campaign video on the iconic rooftop known as the Door to Heaven, famous for viral videos on social networks. During the filming, the presidential candidate was shot by a drone sitting in a chair, legs crossed, with the favela in the background.
Rocinha was also the setting for another campaign strategy: Cury's official jingle, which is an adaptation of the Rio funk song "Rap da Felicidade," by Cidinho and Doca. During the visit, the candidate wore a green shirt with the phrase "I just want to be happy," a line from the song's chorus that has become his campaign soundtrack.
In the adapted version, the jingle incorporates references to violence, fear, and inequality in the favelas. The lyrics portray a resident who says he no longer wants to live in fear, trying to connect the song's message to the candidate's political discourse.
