A 49-year-old man suffered a serious accident on the Batman Gotham City Escape roller coaster at Warner Park in Madrid, a park very popular with Portuguese tourists. The visitor fractured both legs and had to be removed from the premises by emergency helicopter, after slipping from his seat and becoming partially trapped in the cart, upside down. The attraction was evacuated and the entire surrounding area, including nearby shops and restaurants, was temporarily closed.
Witnesses at the scene reported moments of great tension. According to reports, the man was "thrown from side to side" and many people were "completely shocked" by what happened. The park did not provide immediate explanations about the reason for the evacuation, which was taking place while dozens of people waited to enter the attraction.
Warner Park management confirmed that the equipment stopped immediately after the incident and that the planned emergency procedures were activated. The roller coaster, inaugurated in 2023, is capable of exceeding 100 kilometers per hour and has a maximum height of 45 meters. The attraction remains closed to the public while an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
This is not the first serious incident recorded at Warner Park. In 2005, a 22-year-old young man died on The Haunted Hotel attraction, a haunted house experience. The ongoing investigation aims to determine how the visitor left the normal position in the cart and suffered the injuries to both legs.
