The Ministry of Culture authorized last week the raising of R$ 1.1 million for the production of a documentary and illustrated book about Estação Primeira de Mangueira. The samba school celebrates 100 years since its founding in April 2028.
The book will cover the formation of Black communities in Rio de Janeiro and the history of the samba school. The publication will be documentary and illustrated.
