The Câmara Municipal of Angra do Heroísmo participated in the inauguration ceremony of the new Centro de Atividades de Tempos Livres (CATL) of São Bartolomeu, a response aimed at children and families of this parish. The project results from a partnership between the municipality, the Parish Council of São Bartolomeu and the association Olhar Poente.
The new space represents a significant reinforcement of the services available in the parish, creating better conditions for the follow-up of children and supporting families in reconciling professional and family life. The CATL will operate through educational, cultural, recreational and personal development activities, constituting an essential service for the growth and well-being of children.
Each entity involved had a specific role in the project's completion: the Câmara Municipal of Angra do Heroísmo ensured the financing of the works, the Parish Council of São Bartolomeu assumed the execution of the intervention, and the association Olhar Poente will be responsible for the management and development of the space.
The Mayor of the Câmara Municipal, Fátima Amorim, highlighted the importance of cooperation between local institutions, emphasizing that investing in children and families is investing in the future. The inauguration is part of the Municipality's commitment to a proximity policy, supporting projects that respond to the needs of the parishes and promote greater social cohesion in the municipality.
