Vouzela hosts the fifth edition of Festival Palcos in September, organized by ATEF – Associação de Teatro Experimental de Fataunços. The festival takes place at Cineteatro João Ribeiro and presents three performances throughout the month.
The program begins on September 12th with "Palavras Não Abraçam," presented by Grupo de Teatro Filhos do Vento, from Armamar. This is the first drama work written and directed by this collective from the Douro region, featuring a cast that includes Ana Carreira, Manuel Vaz, Maria Castro, Pedro Cruz, Raquel Castro, and Salvador Vaz.
On September 19th, "Gambozinos" takes the stage, a production by ATEF itself that marks its debut in the Lafões region, after being part of the opening program of the 20th Festival de Teatro do Orfeão de Águeda. The play is performed by Aníbal Seraphim, Fernando Figueiredo, Joana Alves, Linda Almeida, and Pedro Lopes.
The festival closes on September 20th with the comedy "Retalhos da Vida de um Bêbado," presented by Teatro do Ave, from Vila do Conde, featuring Afonso Carvalho, Heitor Almeida, Vítor Viana, and Aurelino Costa appearing via video. The organization maintains the event's solidarity component, with tickets priced at four euros, with half of the proceeds going to ASSOL – Associação de Solidariedade Social de Lafões.
