The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, defended in Estremoz that the country's interior will have to grow above the national average to reduce territorial differences compared to the coast. The statements were given to the online newspaper ODigital.pt during the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Estremoz's elevation to city status.
The government official considered that the Alentejo is currently going through a phase of greater initiative, entrepreneurship and public investment, understanding that this dynamism can contribute to the region's development. The minister highlighted the importance of policies that promote balanced growth between the coastal areas and the country's interior.
