The entity representing nurses directs criticism at the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service, accusing it of failing to hire new professionals for the NHS. This failure to recruit nurses exacerbates the shortage of human resources in the public health system.

According to the Order of Nurses, there are thousands of nurses missing from the Portuguese National Health Service. This shortage has a direct impact on the functioning of health units and the quality of care provided to patients.
