The Judicial Police, through the Northern Directorate, arrested a 72-year-old man for the crime of sexual abuse of an elderly woman in a nursing home in Arouca. The arrest took place on February 26th.
The suspect was brought before the first judicial hearing, having been subject to precautionary measures. Among the measures applied is the prohibition of contact with the victim and with other residents of the nursing home.
The authorities announced the arrest through a statement, in which they indicated that the investigation proceeded carefully and counted on the collaboration of local authorities.
The case is being followed by the Public Ministry, which will continue to carry out the necessary procedures within the scope of this process.
