A producer from Aboim da Nóbrega, in Vila Verde, registered on August 28 an alleged attack attributed to the Iberian wolf. The attack resulted in the death of a garrana, causing losses to the producer.
The case adds to other reports of attacks that were registered in different areas of northern Portugal. The occurrence once again highlighted the tension between the presence of the Iberian wolf and livestock farming in the region.
The information about the alleged attack was disseminated without reference to reactions from the competent authorities or organizations defending the Iberian wolf.
