The National Statistics Institute (INE) confirmed a 2.5% growth of the Portuguese economy in the second quarter. This data represents the country's economic performance during that period.
INE states that the negative contribution of net external demand to the year-on-year variation of Gross Domestic Product reduced in the second quarter. This reduction indicates an improvement in the balance between exports and imports.
The growth of exports was more intense and more than compensated for the acceleration observed in imports. This dynamism of the export sector contributed significantly to the positive result of the economy in the period under analysis.
