A collision between a motorcycle and two light vehicles occurred this morning on Highway 24 (A24), on the section between Nogueira and Vila Real, at kilometer 82 of the road. The accident happened around 09:00 and caused two seriously injured.
The two injured were identified as a 65-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman. The man went into cardiorespiratory arrest as a result of the accident and underwent resuscitation maneuvers, while the woman had multiple fractures. After assistance at the scene, both were transported to the Emergency Department of Vila Real Hospital, where they were admitted in serious condition.
Rescue resources from Peso da Régua Firefighters, INEM and GNR were mobilized to the scene, who took charge of the incident and are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
The accident caused traffic disruptions on the A24 during the rescue operations and vehicle removal.
