A 70-year-old man was identified by the GNR on suspicion of counterfeiting during an inspection action at the weekly fair in Melgaço. The operation took place following a complaint received about the sale of counterfeit articles and was carried out by military personnel from the Melgaço Territorial Post.
During the inspection, the military personnel detected several clothing articles from a registered and well-known brand on the market that were on display for sale to the public. A total of 118 counterfeit articles were seized, valued at approximately 1,770 euros.
The operation resulted in the identification of the suspect and the complete seizure of the articles. The facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Melgaço for the appropriate legal proceedings.
