REPMUS 2026: Portugal once again hosts the largest exercise testing robots, drones and unmanned defense systems

The 16th edition of REPMUS – Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned Systems kicks off today in Troia and Sesimbra. The event, organized by the Portuguese Navy in collaboration with national and international entities, is considered the largest exercise testing robots, drones and unmanned defense systems.

The exercise takes place in Portuguese waters and its main objective is to experiment and test unmanned maritime technologies, covering various areas of military and defense application.

This is the 16th edition of REPMUS, which demonstrates the continuity and the importance that this event has been gaining over the years in the international landscape of unmanned maritime operations.

The organization by the Portuguese Navy, in partnership with multiple entities, reflects Portugal's commitment to establishing itself as a relevant hub in the development and testing of maritime autonomous systems.
