North Cyprus authorities will investigate the sinking of the «Filo Jet» ferry, which killed eight people and left 18 people missing. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy and determine responsibilities.
Survivors of the shipwreck claim the vessel's doors were locked, which allegedly hindered the evacuation of passengers. Passengers also accuse the captain of abandoning the ferry before all occupants were rescued.
The captain of the «Filo Jet» and the remaining crew members are in the custody of authorities. The arrests come as a result of the allegations made by survivors regarding the crew's behavior during the shipwreck.
