The inflation rate in Portugal accelerated to 3.3% in August, in year-on-year terms, representing an increase from the 3.0% recorded in the previous month. This growth was mainly driven by the rise in fuel prices.

The data was released through a quick estimate from the National Statistics Institute, which confirmed the acceleration of inflation in the month of August. The fuel sector was identified as the main responsible for this variation.

Ludgero Marques: Seguro remembers a prominent figure of business associations

A native of Santa Maria da Feira, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Porto and headed several companies, including the taps and ceramics manufacturer Cifial. He received several honorary distinctions, including the rank of Grand-Officer of the Order of Prince Henry. The funeral will be held at the Matrix Church of Rio Meão, followed by the crematorium in Aveiro.
