A Santos player was arrested in São Paulo during an operation by the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo investigating the involvement of players, athletes, and businessmen with a criminal organization linked to arms and drug trafficking. The name of the athlete arrested on Monday morning has not been released by authorities.

Vasco's striker, David Corrêa, is the target of a search and seizure warrant at his apartment in Barra da Tijuca, in the state capital. The club's training center, located in the same area, is also the target of a search and seizure warrant.

Agents from the Leblon Police Station and the Specialized Weapons, Ammunition, and Explosives Division carried out three search and seizure warrants in Rio de Janeiro, but the operation is also taking place in other Brazilian states.

According to the investigations conducted by the police of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, the involvement of other individuals with this criminal group is being investigated, and the group allegedly has ties to a faction. The investigations are under seal.
