Limits on social housing led to five animals being taken to the kennel

Açoriano Oriental31 August 2026 at 11:10

Five animals were removed from social housing belonging to the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, on Terceira Island, during the first eight months of the year. The animals were delivered to the Official Collection Center of Terceira Island between January and August.

The removal of the animals was due to non-compliance with municipal rules that establish limits on the number of animals allowed in social housing. The regulations in force in the municipality restrict the number of animals that residents can have in social housing.

The five animals were thus transferred to the municipal kennel, where they remain available for adoption or collection by their respective owners, should they regularize their situation and meet the requirements established by the city council.
