Within the scope of the European Heritage Days 2026, Espaço Valdevez and the Baroque Interpretation Center promote a special staged visit at the Church of the Holy Spirit, where history blends with theater and visitors are invited to discover the Baroque universe in an innovative way.
The visit is conducted by Félix Alves Pereira, a character inspired by the celebrated Arcuense archaeologist, who guides the audience on a journey through the history of the Church of the Holy Spirit. The special participation of Robert Chester Smith, an American art historian who deeply studied Portuguese Baroque and investigated the documents of the Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit, gives the play historical rigor.
The production is overseen by Movimento Incriativo, with costumes and props by Andreia Mourão, and features a cast composed of André Araújo, António Rocha, Céu Bivar and Ricardo Dias. The activity combines history and fiction, rigor and humor, giving voice to ancient documents and life to characters from the past.
The staged visit takes place on September 26, at 3:00 PM, is free and open to the general public.
